About
Hello, I’m Parthiv Mothipati, the CEO and Founder of Eastside Smart Home. Eastside Smart Home is a company recently started to install smart home solutions, security systems, and home networking.
We have experience and can do the following:
Home wifi and networking
- Configuring encrypted DNS so your requests can’t be tracked
- Installing mesh wifi
- Improving performance of existing wifi
- Scheduling network tests (hourly or daily) to make sure thenetwork is performing as expected
Installing security systems and cameras
- Installing PoE cameras with RTSP streams
- Installing wireless cameras
- Training an AI model for detection of people, cars, and motion
- Configuring storage to store footage, events, etc.
- Example: 4 TB of storage, storing all footage for 18 hours, detected motion for 3 days, and detected people, cars, pets, and other events for 1-2 weeks
- Using open source software and older general purpose hardware (old desktop PC) as the NVR instead of purchasing a bloated solution that you will normally see.
Home automation
- NFC Tags are small tags that use the same technology as used in wireless payments, HID scanning, etc. They can be used for automations (examples below)
- Reminders go to your phone every hour on the day before the garbage collection. The reminders can only be stopped by waving your phone on a tag placed on the bin.
- When finished putting clothes in the washing machine, simply scan your phone over the tag placed on the machine and you will be reminded when your clothes are ready.
- Tag placed in the living room or a common area that guests can wave their phone over to automatically connect to the wifi without having to ask for the password.
- There are many more examples, the possibilities are limitless!
- Installation of IoT devices
- One common debate that I hear customers go through is between smart bulbs and smart light switches. For the general consumer, I would recommend installing smart switches because smart bulbs have a much shorter lifespan than smart switches so you would need to pay much more every time your bulb dies versus a one-time installation of smart switches.
I am a high school student at Tesla STEM interested in data science, software, and automation. I post projects as a reference for customers to gain inspiration from This website is meant to be the home for projects from my company Eastside Smart Home.
You’re welcome to look around my projects and if you want to get in touch for something similar in your own home, the best way to contact me is through my email at me@parthiv.dev.
